Normally on Fridays we have someone share their story of how they began to memorize entire books of the Bible and long passages, and how it has benefitted them. We’ve had over 40 stories so far. Today we don’t have a story because no one turned one in. I’m absolutely positive there are stories out there so if you would like to share your story please send it to me. Here are a few simple guidelines:
• 400 words maximum. You may make it shorter.
• Make it personal. Tell about your life with illustrations and events.
• Tell which books/passages you have memorized. Other memorizers like to know.
• Email a picture with your story. Casual.
• Tell which state or country you are from.
• Email your story to janet@janetpope.org
• I will help you with editing if needed.
Also, if you have any links to testimonies of memorizers, I’d love to have those too.
Be blessed everyone, and keep memorizing God’s Word!
Today I’ve been at 1Peter 1:15. “…like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior…” there’s a challenge! But we are not called to do the impossible – we have the Holy Spirit; the Spirit of Jesus. It is so good to be able to fill our minds with Bible instead of all the worldly trash.
You’re so right Jane. It’s a lifelong endeavor, but we have the Holy Spirit.
Have you heard the story of Esther Ahn Kim?
She prepared herself for suffering and persecution in Korea during the Japanese occupation during WW2.
One of the things she did to prepare was to memorize long portions of Scripture.
She is featured in the book “Faithful Women and Their Extraordinary God” by Noël Piper.
“If I Perish” is her autobiography.
ok fantastic, I will check it out.
